GridSnap
Snap any Mac window to a grid region with one shortcut and a drag, Divvy-style.
About GridSnap
GridSnap is a free MIT menu bar app for macOS that its maker built as an open-source alternative to Divvy. Press a shortcut (Control-Option-D by default), a grid appears, drag across the cells you want and the focused window snaps there, with a live preview that jumps back if you cancel. Any region can be saved as a preset with its own global shortcut; a full-screen preset comes built in; the last snap can be undone. Grid size and the gap between windows are configurable, it works across multiple displays, and it can target the focused window or the one under the cursor. Accessibility permission is required to move other apps' windows. The code has no network access, no analytics and no accounts, and there is no built-in update checker — update via Homebrew or a new GitHub release. Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon or Intel. Official zips are signed with Developer ID (Maciej Gajewski). Install with `brew install --cask konieczkow/tap/gridsnap` or download the zip from GitHub Releases. Early 0.1.x project from a solo maker.
