OpenDisplay
Turn an iPad, iPhone, Android device or spare Mac into a real extended display for your Mac.
About OpenDisplay
OpenDisplay turns an iPhone, iPad, spare Mac, Android device (beta) or Linux machine (beta) into a real extended display for your Mac (macOS 14+), over USB or Wi-Fi, with touch and scroll input. It is free and open source, with no account and no dongle. Caveats: the Mac sender relies on CGVirtualDisplay, a private macOS API, so a macOS update could break it. Wi-Fi streams are not encrypted yet (USB is point-to-point), so use a network you trust. The Mac apps check for updates automatically via Sparkle. The apps have no analytics, but the opendisplay.app website loads a self-hosted Plausible analytics script even though its privacy page says "no analytics". The iOS app is free on the App Store and TestFlight; Android is in Google Play testing.
