Parrot
A free, open-source Mac meeting recorder with on-device transcription and a live AI assistant that answers from your docs.
About Parrot
Parrot is a meeting recorder for the Mac with a live AI assistant. It records any call your Mac can hear (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams and others) without a bot joining, and transcribes it on-device with Whisper or Parakeet, including speaker detection. During the call the assistant suggests answers from your own documents, pins open questions and objections, and captures next steps; afterwards it writes the report, and you can search all past calls in a chat or connect them to Claude Desktop. It is free, with no 30-day limit and no telemetry. To be clear: the AI assistant needs your own Claude or OpenAI-compatible API key, or a local Ollama model (Parrot can install it for you), and Ollama is what makes full use free and offline. Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. Still in beta: only pre-release versions so far (v0.29.7). Releases are signed and notarized. GPL-3.0.
