Product design / migration checklist

Move your product design workflow from Figma

Inventory design systems and collaboration needs, then test what survives an export and import.

← All migration guides

A design workspace includes more than drawings: components, styles, variables, prototypes and collaboration all matter. Evaluate those needs separately. A project described as a Figma alternative may offer similar tools without importing an existing workspace.

What to verify before switching

  • Components, layout rules, variables, interactions and version history may not survive a format conversion.
  • Exported artwork is useful as a reference; it does not guarantee an editable design system in another tool.
  • Confirm workspace permissions and export rights before copying shared client or team assets.

Your goal: A tested sample design and a practical plan for rebuilding the parts of your design system that do not transfer.

Loading your checklist…

1. Decide what your team needs to preserve

2. Create a reference archive

3. Test import and editing independently

4. Move one project before the whole team

Checklist progress stays in this browser tab’s session. It is not sent to a server.

General planning guidance. Import support, export options and subscription access depend on the current versions and plans of the apps involved. No migration or compatibility testing is implied.
